There’s a “Sunday” school class for all ages–from preschool to adult–and it’s held during The WELL (Wednesday Evening Lutheran Learning). We meet on Wednesday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., from September to May. During the seasons of Advent and Lent, we take a break from the curriculum and come together for special times of fellowship and worship.
A typical evening at The WELL looks like this:
5:30-6:00 p.m. — Dinner
6:00-7:00 p.m. — Small Group Study
- Nursery for infants to 2-year-olds
- “Sunday” School for youth preschool to 5th grade
- Confirmation for 6th-8th graders
- SMYLE Youth Group for high school students
- Bible Study for adults
7:00-7:15 p.m. — Singing, Sharing and Closing Prayer
Sunday Morning Fellowship
Our Adult Forum gathers for coffee, donuts, and fellowship after worship services on Sunday mornings and takes many different shapes. Some discussions focus on a specific topic or book, others on a multi-week guided study.
VBS is our summer program for preschoolers through 6th graders. We’ve organized five-day and three-day daytime programs and evening programs for the family, and coordinated our efforts with other churches in Storm Lake. Most recently, our program we’ve held VBS in the evenings of a mid-August weekend.
The camp experience is filled with energetic praise and worship services, comical skits, stimulating Bible studies, healthy meals, Christ-centered fellowship, and lots of fun activities. Camps are age-based and can be weeklong or two-night/three-day experiences. Family camps use chapel, family devotions, and fun activities to help families grow in faith as a whole family.
Camps are held from June through early August at three sites: Ingham Lake Bible Camp is located along the shores of Ingham Lake, east of Wallingford, Iowa; Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp is located on West Lake Okoboji in the Miller’s Bay area, Milford, Iowa; and Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camp is in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
