At St Mark we believe that the junior and senior high school years are very important years for faith development, and growth as young men and women. We know they can be challenging years for the students and for parents. Like other churches, we hope that we can provide youth with a church home, and can help them grow in their faith.
At the foundation of our student ministry during the 6th-8th grade years is confirmation or what is referred to "affirmation of Baptism". It is our way of helping young men and women prepare for the world they will be entering very soon. Most of the children who make up the St Mark community received the gift of Holy Baptism as infants by God's grace. Confirmation or "affirmation of Baptism" as it is called, is their opportunity to say YES to that gift. Confirmation takes place on Wednesday evenings during the school year. We invite families to come together at 5:30 for a meal, and from 6:00-6:40 6th-8th grade students join Pastor Dave learning from the Bible, the Small Catechism (Lord's Prayer, Holy Communion and Baptism, Apostle's Creed), a little bit of church history, as well as other lessons that we hope prepare youth for a life as a follower of Jesus Christ.
In addition there are regularly scheduled events throughout the year for Junior AND Senior High students. Please check out our calendar for opportunities to get involved in youth life at St Mark.
