ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE INSTALLATION OF PASTOR DAVID KEBSCHULL as Pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church will be on Saturday, September 22 at our 5:30 p.m. service.  A meal will follow.  We are asking people to call the church office at 712-732-5255 with the number of people attending so we have an idea of the amount of food to have prepared. 

WORSHIP IN THE PARK: Next Sunday, Sept.9, worship will be at Frank Starr Park. A meal will follow the service. Broasted chicken will be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert.

PLEASE SIGN UP on the round table in the narthex for one of three volunteer opportunities for “God’s Work, Our Hands” Sunday. Please bring any rakes, shovels gloves, trash bags and/or cans if you can work on Main St. or along the lakeshore. Also, if you have one, please wear your yellow “God’s Work” T-shirt.

SCHOOL DONATIONS: With the school year started, the Social Ministry board is asking for donations of clothing and toiletry items to supplement the school nurse supply for children in need. Donations may be placed in the tubs in the narthex.  Lists of items and sizes needed are on the tubs. Donations will be accepted throughout the school year.

WANDA SIEVERS BIRTHDAY: Wanda will be celebrating her birthday on Sept. 6. Let’s make it special and send her a card. Otsego Place, 520 Otsego, Apt 118, Storm Lake. Thank you!! 

THE WELL: As The WELL year approaches, we are looking for people to help.   We need a Story Teller, 2-5th Lead Instructor, Pre-1st Lead Instructor and Pre-1st Helper. each week. Also volunteers to fix the meal each week are needed. Sign up sheets are on the round table. Help is always needed. 

CONFIRMATION & THE WELL classes will start soon.       Watch your mail for information and registration cards. 

JOYFUL PRAISE CONCERT will take place at the Covenant Church, Albert City, IA on Tuesday, September 4th at 7:00 PM. Freewill donation or a nonperishable food item, or baby supply item. Items to benefit Helping Hands and Cherish House. Refreshments will be served after the concert. Judy Clausen, Roxie Brostad, Jeri Wenell and Connie Dallenbach Accompanist.

STEPHEN MINISTRY will be offering a class on Christian Caregiving starting September 10. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister and have not yet signed up or if you just want to learn more, please feel free to call or talk with Maxine Lampe (732-1058). 

PRODUCE EXCHANGE: Bring your extra garden produce to church to share and/or exchange with others. Don’t have any to bring but would like to have some? Feel free to help yourself. There will also be a container for freewill offerings.  All leftover produce will be taken to Upper DesMoines on Mondays and monetary donations will also be given to Upper DSM. The Social Ministry board will be will be sponsoring this exchange through September.
