Paul Bengtson


Pastor Paul S. Bengtson began serving as St. Mark’s interim pastor in July, 2016. He and his wife Mary Ann, a retired high school teacher, have two adult children, two granddaughters, and a great-grandson. Pastor Paul was born and raised in Illinois, and he’s a graduate of Augustana College (Rock Island, Illinois) and Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He served congregations in Rockford, Wenona, Galesburg, & Peoria in Illinois, and Avoca Iowa, before becoming an assistant to Western Iowa Synod Bishops Curt Miller and Michael Last. kandiKandi Anderson

Director of Faith Formation

Kandi joined the St. Mark staff as Director of Youth and Family Ministries in July, 2008. Before moving to Storm Lake, she spent 20 years in Stafford, Virginia. She grew up in Inwood, Iowa and has also lived in Titonka, Webster City, Primghar, and Jefferson, Iowa. She has five children ( Lauran, Tyler, Lindsey, Victoria, Erik) and three grandchildren (Benjamine, Connor, Sebastian). Email Kandi at

Administrative Assistant

Jane joined the staff as Administrative Assistant in November of 2007. She’s lived in Storm Lake for more than 20 years. She has two children [Jamay (married to Kyle), Chet married to Cassie)] and three grandchildren (Lauren, Liam, Braxton). Email Jane at
